Amelia
Published in Paperback by New American Library (October, 1980)
Average review score:

A very Delightful BookAll of London was wagering on who would warm the cold heart, cool the hot temper, and win the precious hand of young, wealthy, and beautiful Miss Amelia Clerville. But Amelia faced a gamble of her own as she came ever closer to being cornered by the two frontrunners of her pack of swarming suitors. There was the iron-willed, compellingly ruthless Sir Julian Denventer, a battering ram of an aristocrat who was breaking down her resistance. And there was the insufferably arrogant Marquis of Tyrone, who had the infuriating impudence to pretend he did not want her. Amelia feared that one of them was a thief, the other a murderer-and if she made the wrong choice, her worst fears would come true. An very entertaining book.

America Is My Neighborhood
Published in Hardcover by Simon & Schuster (October, 1987)
Average review score:

Great Scott!Churchill's ministerial brilliance overshadowed his literary achievements to such an extent that many don't realize that he was a writer. Da Vinci's talents as an inventor, painter, and sculptor fully eclipsed his terrific accomplishments as a musician and lyrist. Likewise, Scott is widely portrayed as being little more than a chortling meterologist, one known mainly for trumpeting the birthdays of elderly viewers in between his forecasts. This tome gives the lie to this perception, revealing Scott as a thoughtful writer, as well as an unabashed patriot. For sweet America herself in all of her vastness is Scott's own 'hood - and he's that homeboy on the corner, layin' down rhymes, hookin' down forties, pullin' out his jammy, and aiming it at the sky.

America's Best Classrooms: How Award-Winning Teachers Are Shaping Our Children's Future
Published in Paperback by Petersons Guides (September, 1993)
Average review score:

BEST for teaching insightDaniel & Terry Seymour have a great collection of stories and ideas from teacher's of the year. As a first year teacher I enjoy reading it to find some interesting things to try in my own classroom. The opinions that are voiced in this book are those of teachers in the "real world." Parents that are concerned about classroom management and how their kids should be taught should read this book to get an idea of what is a "good" classroom. The book is very easy to read with little extras in each chapter. I recommend it to anyone interested in education and kids of all ages.

America's Crisis: The Direct Democracy and Direct Education Solution
Published in Paperback by Hard Shell Word Factory (15 September, 2000)
Average review score:

It's time for real democracyIf you feel disenfranchised as a citizen and voter in America, this book may provide the answers you're looking for. Indeed, the consolidation of power in Washington, economic uncertainty, social erosion, and the 2000 presidential election debacle prove the need for election reform, more democracy and voter participation in self-government. It's time for us to re-examine ourselves. And it's time for real democracy.

American Courts
Published in Paperback by West Wadsworth (May, 1991)
Average review score:

Every American Should Own This BookThis really is a fantastic book. Professor Meador, having spent half a century as a teacher at one of the world's finest law schools and as a consultant and advisor to legal scholars and judges from state courts to the Supreme Court, manages to speak to everyone who hasn't had the opportunity to attend law school. Reading this book won't make you a lawyer, but you will understand exactly what happens in our court systems - a must for new law students, foreign lawyers and anyone interested in how their nation's legal systems work. It was an invaluable help in my first year of law school, and worth every dime.

American Southwest Travel-Smart (American Southwest Travel-Smart, 2nd Ed)
Published in Paperback by John Muir Pubns (May, 1998)
Average review score:

Take-along Travel GuideI can't say enough about how useful this Travel Smart guide was on our recent trip to the Southwest. As Daniel Gibson claims, he only includes the best of what there is to see and do, only the best places to eat and stay. All this info is rated 1-4 stars and we found the ratings to be surprisingly accurate compared with our own opinions. The book is so organized that it's easy to find what you're looking for; places are cross referenced for easy research. We kept the book with us and read ahead about what was coming up as we traveled. Prices were either right on or close to present charges. Descriptions were interesting and fun to read, and detailed enough to help us decide whether or not we wanted to stop at each attraction. If you only want to take one book along on your next trip to the southwest, you won't go wrong with this one.

Ancient Wisdom for Today's World: A Commentary on the Book of Proverbs
Published in Paperback by Pentecostal Publishing House (March, 1990)
Average review score:

Great study book! This is one of the most practical, easy-to-read commentaries available on Proverbs. I highly recommend it. The book also gives the reader much insight into the ancient culture and customs of the day in which it was written (which is essential if one is to fully understand the book of Proverbs).
